# Asset Directory

Force lists two markets. Both are quoted **in rate**: an index value of `4.25` means 4.25%.

The two are not independent. The mortgage index is built as the US10Y oracle plus a stored spread, so it inherits the 10-year's sessions and moves with it continuously; what the mortgage benchmark adds, once each business morning, is a fresh reading of the spread.

Because a basis point is worth the same in both, holding one against the other nets the rate exposure exactly and leaves the spread. See **DV01 and Cross-Hedging**.
